GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit: GHL AEO Guide
GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit: the six AEO checks in GHL's new Prospecting report, when it launches, and how agencies can sell the fixes.

The GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit is a new section HighLevel is adding to the Marketing Audit Report in Prospecting, showing how ready a business's website is to be found and recommended by AI assistants. HighLevel's affiliate team told me in its pre-LevelUp briefing that AEO lands at the end of November, and the countdown in HighLevel Labs points to about 1 December. This page was last updated on 23 October 2026, and I am updating it live through LevelUp week (26 to 29 October).
What is the GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit?
It is a new section in the Prospecting Marketing Audit Report that scores how ready a website is for ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity: AI crawler access, llms.txt, schema, JavaScript-free content, Open Graph tags and agent readiness. It is due around the end of November 2026.

What is the GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit?
The AI Search Visibility Audit is GoHighLevel's AEO feature: a new section in the Marketing Audit Report in Prospecting that shows how ready a business's website is to be found and recommended by AI assistants. HighLevel is also adding custom domains for marketing audit reports, so the report can sit on a domain you choose.
AEO stands for answer engine optimisation. It is the work of making a business show up when someone asks an AI assistant a question instead of typing it into a search box. GEO (generative engine optimisation) covers much the same ground, and you will often see the two terms used together.
I have the feature switched on in HighLevel Labs in my own agency account, and HighLevel's own Labs description spells out exactly what the audit checks. Here it is, straight from the Labs card.

| Detail | What HighLevel has confirmed |
|---|---|
| Where it lives | A new AI Search Visibility section in the Marketing Audit Report, inside Prospecting |
| Which assistants | ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity are named |
| How results appear | Scored and organised into clear stages, so you can explain what is holding a business back |
| Where to run it | Prospecting in the agency view, or in a sub-account under Marketing |
| Related addition | Custom domains for marketing audit reports |
| Timing | End of November per HighLevel's affiliate briefing; Labs countdown points to about 1 December |
What does the GoHighLevel AI Search Visibility Audit check?
The audit checks the technical signals that decide whether AI assistants can read a business website and trust it enough to recommend it. HighLevel lists six areas in its Labs description, and each one is something an agency can fix and charge for.
| Check | What it looks at | Why it matters for AI search |
|---|---|---|
| AI crawler access | Whether major AI crawlers are allowed or blocked, broken down by model | A site that blocks an assistant's crawler cannot be read or cited by that assistant |
| llms.txt | Whether the site has an llms.txt file | A plain summary file written for AI models to read |
| Schema markup | Structured data on the site, with LocalBusiness schema checked field by field | Tells assistants exactly what the business is, where it is and what it offers |
| JavaScript-free readability | Whether the content can be read without JavaScript | Many AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so content that needs it can be invisible to them |
| Open Graph tags | Whether the site carries Open Graph tags | Gives a clean title, description and image when a page is shared or summarised |
| Agent readiness | Signals such as form field labelling and accessible element naming | Lets AI agents understand and use the site's forms and buttons on a customer's behalf |
That last row is the one to watch. Assistants are starting to act for people, filling in forms and booking appointments, and a contact form with unlabelled fields is a form an agent cannot complete.
Every one of these checks maps to a job an agency can sell: unblocking crawlers, writing an llms.txt, completing LocalBusiness schema, fixing JavaScript-only content, adding Open Graph tags and relabelling forms. If you build client sites in GHL, my GoHighLevel schema markup guide covers the structured data side.
Custom domains for audit reports
HighLevel is also adding custom domains for marketing audit reports. Agencies can share reports on their own API domain instead of the default prod.analyzemy.business link, and once the domain is connected, every shared report link, including the view your prospect sees, uses your branded URL with no GHL or third-party domain anywhere in the link.

How to run it
HighLevel's Labs card gives the steps. Switch on the Labs toggle for the feature, go to Prospecting (in the agency view, or in a sub-account under Marketing), generate a new prospect or refresh an existing one, then open the marketing audit report and look for the new AI Search Visibility section.
When does the GoHighLevel AEO audit launch?
HighLevel told affiliates that AEO lands at the end of November 2026, and the Labs countdown for the AI Search Visibility Audit points to about 1 December. It is the one item in HighLevel's LevelUp briefing that does not go to Labs at the event itself.
Everything else in the briefing, from Task Management and Ticketing to the Founder's Plan (previously SaaS Pro / Agency Pro) inclusions, launches to Labs for all customers effective LevelUp, with Custom Nav as an opt-in. My GoHighLevel LevelUp 2026 hub lists every launch and its timing.
What is the Marketing Audit Report in GoHighLevel Prospecting?
The Marketing Audit Report is part of GoHighLevel's Prospecting tool, which agencies use to show a local business where its online marketing has gaps. You run the report on a prospect, share it, and use the findings to start a sales conversation about fixing those gaps.
A business owner rarely buys "marketing services" in the abstract. They buy a fix for a problem they can see in front of them, and an audit with their own business name on it puts the problem in front of them. The AI Search Visibility section adds a new category of gap to that same report, and custom domains mean the report can be delivered under your own agency's domain.
If you already sell local SEO through GHL, my GoHighLevel SEO tools guide covers the rest of the platform's search tooling, and my GoHighLevel schema markup guide covers structured data on GHL sites.
Why does AI search visibility matter for agencies?
AI search visibility matters because people now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude for recommendations, including which local business to call. If an assistant does not recommend a business, that business loses the enquiry without ever knowing it was in the running. An audit that shows the gap gives an agency a concrete reason to start a conversation.
AEO also gives you a different opening from a standard SEO pitch. A business owner who has never checked whether an AI assistant would recommend them sees something new in the report.
There is also a practical selling point. A prospect can check the gap themselves by asking an AI assistant for a recommendation in their category and town. When the audit says their site is not ready and the assistant names someone else, the report and the test back each other up.

The simplest way to package AEO with GoHighLevel is to use the AI Search Visibility Audit as the free front end of the offer, then sell the fixes as a monthly service. The ideas below are starting points for building your own offer, not a HighLevel-endorsed method, and I will refine them once I have used the audit.
Idea 1: the audit as a lead magnet
Picture a dental marketing agency that runs the audit on twenty local practices, sends each one its report on the agency's own custom domain, and invites the owner to a short call to walk through it. The report does the opening, and the call does the selling. My database reactivation guide shows the kind of GHL follow-up automation you can adapt for prospects who do not book straight away.
Idea 2: AEO as an add-on to existing SEO or website clients
If you already manage a client's website, the audit gives you a reason to upsell. Run it on the current site, show the AI Search Visibility section at your next review, and add an AEO tier to the retainer. This works well alongside a GHL website rebuild, since you control the pages you are fixing.
Idea 3: a niche AEO offer
Choose one industry and build the whole offer around it. Picture a home services agency targeting plumbers, running the audit across a city, and sending a short summary of which businesses look most ready for AI recommendations. HighLevel is also launching tools for home services, restaurant and event space businesses at LevelUp, covered in my Industries Mode guide, which pairs well with a niche AEO pitch.
Idea 4: a quarterly re-audit
A website changes over time, and so do the AI assistants reading it, so a one-off fix ages. A quarterly re-audit gives clients a recurring report that shows progress and gives you a reason to keep the retainer running.
| Offer idea | Who it suits | Role of the audit |
|---|---|---|
| Lead magnet | Agencies prospecting new local clients | Opens the conversation |
| SEO or website add-on | Agencies with existing website clients | Justifies an upsell |
| Niche AEO offer | Agencies focused on one industry | Positions you as the specialist |
| Quarterly re-audit | Any agency selling AEO as a retainer | Shows progress and keeps the client |
Whatever you charge, set it based on your own market and delivery costs. HighLevel has not said anything about pricing for the audit itself or which plans include it, and I will add that here as soon as it is confirmed.
What will I test when the AI Search Visibility Audit lands?
When the audit arrives at the end of November, I will run it and document exactly what it reports, so you can decide how to sell it before you build an offer around it. Here is my test list.
- How the six checks score a real local business site, and how the stages read.
- How long the custom domain setup for audit reports takes.
- How the AI section sits alongside the rest of the Marketing Audit Report.
- Whether results change after fixes are made to a test site, and how quickly.
- Which plans it appears on, once HighLevel confirms availability.
- How the report reads to a business owner who has never heard of AEO.
I will add the results to this page and to my LevelUp 2026 hub.
How do I get the GoHighLevel AEO audit when it launches?
The AI Search Visibility Audit will live in Prospecting inside GoHighLevel, so you need a GHL account to use it. If you start a 30-day GoHighLevel trial now, every LevelUp launch that goes to Labs lands inside your trial window, and your account is built and ready when the audit arrives at the end of November.
That gives you time to set up your agency account, build your prospect list, and have your outreach automation ready before the audit lands. You can compare plans on my pricing page, and my free trial guide walks you through getting started. Current public GHL prices are $97 a month for Starter, $297 for Unlimited and $497 for the top tier, the Founder's Plan. Join 2.2 million businesses already running on GoHighLevel.
