GoHighLevel Google Ads Dashboard Widgets: All 11 Explained

What are GoHighLevel Google Ads Dashboard Widgets?
GoHighLevel Google Ads Dashboard Widgets are 11 pre-built reporting blocks that surface Google Ads data directly inside any sub-account dashboard or custom report. They cover total spend, clicks, impressions, conversions, cost trends, and campaign-level breakdowns. Connect your Google Ads account once and all 11 widgets pull data automatically. Google Ads metrics are also available in the Custom Metrics formula builder, allowing cross-module KPIs like ROAS and cost per closed deal. Available on all GoHighLevel plans at no additional cost.
GoHighLevel released 11 Google Ads widgets for its dashboards and reporting module in June 2026. The update brings ad performance data directly into GoHighLevel, eliminating the need to switch between Google Ads and your CRM to see how campaigns are performing.
The bigger story is what the widgets enable beyond basic reporting. Google Ads metrics are now available in GoHighLevel's Custom Metrics formula builder, which means agencies can combine ad spend data with pipeline revenue data to calculate ROAS, cost per closed deal, and other cross-module KPIs that Google Ads alone cannot produce.
Prerequisites
Before any Google Ads widget shows data, two things need to be in place:
-
Google Ads connected at the sub-account level. Go to Sub-account Settings, then Integrations, then Google Ads. Connect using your Google account, Manager account (MCC), and Ad account. All widgets in that sub-account inherit this connection automatically.
-
Dashboards and Reporting access. Verify the user has permission to view or edit dashboards and to create or schedule custom reports.
Once connected, there is no per-widget configuration needed for the data source. Every widget pulls from the same connected Google Ads account.
All 11 Widgets
Aggregate Metrics (6 Widgets)
These six widgets show totals and trends for the core Google Ads metrics:
| Widget | What It Shows | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Total Conversions | Total conversions across all ads for the selected date range | Top-line indicator of whether ads are delivering results |
| Conversions Over Time | Conversion trend over the selected date range | Spot peaks, drops, and seasonal patterns in conversion volume |
| Total Cost | Total ad spend for the selected date range | The first number most business owners want to see |
| Cost Over Time | Ad spend trend over the selected date range | Correlate budget changes with performance shifts |
| Total Clicks | Total ad clicks for the selected date range | Measures the volume of traffic ads are driving |
| Clicks Over Time | Click trend over the selected date range | Track pacing and identify high or low engagement periods |
Reach Metrics (2 Widgets)
| Widget | What It Shows | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Total Impressions | Total ad impressions for the selected date range | Measures how many times ads were shown |
| Impressions Over Time | Impression trend over the selected date range | Understand reach over time and how it correlates with spend |
Campaign Breakdowns (2 Widgets)
| Widget | What It Shows | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| Clicks by Campaign | Campaign-level click performance as a bar chart | Identify which campaigns drive the most traffic |
| Conversions by Campaign | Campaign-level conversion comparison as a bar chart | Identify your top-converting campaigns |
Cost Efficiency (1 Widget)
| Widget | What It Shows | Use Case |
|---|---|---|
| CPC by Campaign | Average cost per click broken down by campaign | Compare efficiency across campaigns and spot where spend is not converting |
Each widget is configurable with chart type, conditions (date range, filters), and visual themes to match your dashboard or report branding.
How to Add Widgets to a Dashboard
- Confirm Google Ads is connected at the sub-account level (Settings, Integrations, Google Ads)
- Navigate to Dashboards and open the dashboard you want to edit, or create a new one
- Click Edit dashboard in the top right corner
- Click + Add widget to open the widget panel on the right side
- Scroll to the Google Ads section and click the widget you want to add
- Configure the widget using the Integration, Configure, Conditions, and Themes tabs
- Click Save changes to publish
Widgets can be resized and rearranged on the dashboard canvas. Most agencies place the aggregate totals (conversions, cost, clicks) at the top, followed by the trend charts, then campaign breakdowns below.
Adding Widgets to Custom Reports
The same 11 widgets are available in custom reports. This is where client-facing reporting gets powerful.
- Navigate to Reporting and create or edit a custom report
- Add Google Ads widgets alongside other report sections (pipeline, email, calendar, etc.)
- Schedule the report for automatic delivery on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence
A typical client report combines Google Ads widgets with pipeline data: ad spend at the top, conversions in the middle, and won deals at the bottom. The client sees the full funnel from ad click to closed revenue in one document.
Custom Metrics: Cross-Module KPIs
This is where the Google Ads integration becomes genuinely useful beyond basic reporting. Google Ads metrics are available as dimensions in the Custom Metrics formula builder, which means agencies can create KPIs that combine ad data with pipeline, revenue, and opportunity data.
Available Google Ads Metrics in the Formula Builder
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Cost | Total Google Ads spend for the period |
| Sum of Conversions | Total conversions recorded in Google Ads |
| Sum of Ad Clicks | Total clicks across all ads |
| Sum of Impressions | Total impressions across all ads |
| Average Cost Per Click (CPC) | Average CPC across all campaigns |
How to Create a Custom Metric
- Go to Dashboards, then Custom Metrics, and click Create custom metric
- In the Formula builder, select a Google Ads metric (e.g., Cost) as your first dimension
- Add an operator and a second metric from another module (e.g., Count of Opportunity from Opportunities)
- Click on any metric in the formula to open its Configuration panel and apply filters (e.g., filter Count of Opportunity to Status = Won)
- Name your metric, set the display format, and click Create
KPIs You Can Build
| Custom Metric | Formula | What It Tells You |
|---|---|---|
| CTR (Click-Through Rate) | Sum of Ad Clicks / Sum of Impressions x 100 | What percentage of people who saw the ad clicked it |
| Cost Per Closed Deal | Cost / Count of Opportunity (Status = Won) | Average ad spend per won deal |
| ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) | Sum of Revenue (Status = Won) / Cost | Revenue returned for every dollar spent on ads |
| Cost Per Opportunity | Cost / Count of Opportunity (no status filter) | Ad spend per pipeline entry, regardless of outcome |
| Revenue Per Click | Sum of Revenue (Status = Won) / Sum of Ad Clicks | Revenue generated per ad click |
Info
ROAS and Cost Per Closed Deal are the two metrics that Google Ads cannot produce on its own. Google Ads knows about conversions (form fills, calls, etc.) but does not know which of those conversions turned into closed revenue in your CRM pipeline. These cross-module metrics close that gap.
Why This Matters for Agencies
For client reporting: Instead of showing clients a Google Ads report and a separate pipeline report and asking them to connect the dots, agencies can now show a single dashboard with ROAS calculated from actual closed deals. This is significantly more compelling than showing conversions alone.
For campaign optimization: If Campaign A generates more conversions but Campaign B generates more closed revenue, the agency should shift budget to Campaign B. Without cross-module metrics, this insight requires manual spreadsheet work. With custom metrics, it updates automatically.
For pricing conversations: An agency that can show a client "your Google Ads cost $3,200 last month and generated $28,000 in closed pipeline revenue" has a much stronger retention and upsell position than one that can only show clicks and conversions.
Dashboard Layout Recommendations
Agency Owner Dashboard
A bird's-eye view for agency principals managing multiple clients:
- Row 1: Total Cost, Total Conversions, Custom ROAS metric
- Row 2: Cost Over Time, Conversions Over Time (side by side)
- Row 3: Conversions by Campaign, CPC by Campaign
Client-Facing Dashboard
A simplified view designed for client presentations:
- Row 1: Total Conversions, Total Cost, Custom Cost Per Closed Deal
- Row 2: Conversions Over Time
- Row 3: Conversions by Campaign
Keep client-facing dashboards focused on outcomes (conversions, revenue) rather than inputs (impressions, clicks). Most business owners care about results, not reach.
Media Buyer Dashboard
A detailed view for hands-on campaign managers:
- Row 1: Total Clicks, Total Impressions, Custom CTR
- Row 2: Clicks Over Time, Impressions Over Time (side by side)
- Row 3: Clicks by Campaign, CPC by Campaign
- Row 4: Total Conversions, Custom Cost Per Opportunity, Custom ROAS
