Every figure on this page comes from HighLevel's LC Phone pricing guide (modified 29 September 2026), its A2P 10DLC fee schedule (modified 24 September 2026) and its guide to calculating SMS and MMS costs. We read all three on 6 October 2026. Prices are in US dollars.

What does one text cost in GoHighLevel?

A text has two parts on the bill. HighLevel charges for the segment, and the recipient's mobile carrier charges a fee that HighLevel passes through.

ItemRate
SMS segment, sent or received (US and Canada)$0.00747
Carrier fee per outbound segment, AT&T$0.0035
Carrier fee per outbound segment, T-Mobile$0.0045
Carrier fee per outbound segment, Verizon$0.0050
One-segment text to a US mobile, all in$0.01097 to $0.01247
MMS segment, outbound$0.0220
MMS segment, inbound$0.0165 on a local number, $0.0200 on toll-free

HighLevel's guide says its phone pricing matches Twilio's, with a 10% discount on US and Canada messaging. That is how the $0.0083 list price becomes $0.00747, and the discount applies to local and toll-free numbers alike.

Replies cost money too. HighLevel bills inbound texts at the same $0.00747 a segment, and the three main carriers add an inbound fee of $0.0025 to $0.0070.

How does GoHighLevel count SMS segments?

You pay per segment, so the length of the message sets the price.

  • A plain text message holds 160 characters in one segment. At 161 characters it becomes two segments.
  • An emoji or a non-Latin script switches the message to a different encoding, and the limit drops to 70 characters for a single segment and 67 for each part of a longer message.
MessageSegmentsSMS chargeWith carrier fees
Up to 160 plain characters1$0.00747$0.0110 to $0.0125
161 to 320 plain characters2$0.01494$0.0219 to $0.0249
321 to 480 plain characters3$0.02241$0.0329 to $0.0374
Up to 70 characters with an emoji1$0.00747$0.0110 to $0.0125
100 characters with an emoji2$0.01494$0.0219 to $0.0249

A reminder that fits in 160 plain characters costs half as much as one that runs to 161. Custom values such as a long business name or a booking link count towards the total, so test your templates with real data before a big send. Our GoHighLevel SMS marketing guide covers templates and compliance.

What does GoHighLevel SMS cost per month?

The table assumes one-segment texts to US mobiles.

Texts a monthSMS chargeCarrier feesTotal
500$3.74$1.75 to $2.50$5.49 to $6.24
1,000$7.47$3.50 to $5.00$10.97 to $12.47
5,000$37.35$17.50 to $25.00$54.85 to $62.35
10,000$74.70$35.00 to $50.00$109.70 to $124.70

Two fixed costs sit beside the usage. A local phone number is $1.15 a month and a toll-free number is $2.15. A US business also pays a monthly A2P campaign fee of $1.50 to $10, covered in the next section.

A local business sending 1,000 reminders and follow-ups a month therefore spends about $14 to $24 on texting, on top of its plan. You can model your own volumes in our GoHighLevel cost calculator.

What are the A2P 10DLC fees for texting in the US?

US carriers require every business that texts from a local number to register its brand and campaign. HighLevel collects the fees for The Campaign Registry and says it adds no markup.

FeeAmount
One-time registration, Sole Proprietor (1 number, 3,000 segments a day)$22.50
One-time registration, Low Volume Standard (6,000 segments a day)$22.50
One-time registration, High Volume Standard (600,000 segments a day)$64.00
Each extra campaign under the same brand$15.00
Monthly campaign fee, Sole Proprietor$2.00
Monthly campaign fee, low volume mixed use$1.50
Monthly campaign fee, standard use cases$10.00
Resubmitting a rejected campaignFree

The one-time fee bundles brand registration, campaign vetting and a $3 fast track review. HighLevel's guide notes that both the one-time and the monthly fee start when you submit the campaign, and that deleting a campaign stops its monthly charge.

Our A2P registration guide walks through the approval steps, and agencies registering clients should read the sub-account registration guide.

What else can appear on the SMS bill?

  • MMS. Adding an image moves the message to MMS pricing at $0.0220 a segment outbound, plus a carrier fee of $0.0070 to $0.0100.
  • Number validation. This optional check costs $0.005 and runs before a text goes out. If the number is invalid, HighLevel skips the send.
  • Undelivered messages. HighLevel charges once a delivery attempt has been made, whatever the final status, and it does not refund undelivered texts. A clean contact list keeps this line small.

Can agencies rebill SMS to clients?

Yes. The $297 Unlimited plan lets an agency pass phone and SMS usage to each client sub-account at cost. The $497 Agency Pro plan adds a markup, set as a multiplier in the reselling settings.

HighLevel's guide gives a worked example. Carrier fees and A2P fees are pass-through charges, and when rebilling is on HighLevel applies a fixed 5% to them at the sub-account level. A $10.00 carrier fee becomes $10.50, and an agency with a 2x multiplier bills the client $21.00.

United Kingdom$0.0524
