Starting small carries no penalty. HighLevel's pricing page says a mid-month upgrade is charged as a prorated difference.
Do the usage fees really add up?

What does AI add to the GoHighLevel bill?
Has anyone actually done the math on what GHL costs once you add AI? (April 2026) opens with an alarming total. The poster manages 15 clients and reaches about $4,750 a month by putting the $97 AI plan on every sub-account and pricing email at one cent each.
The top reply corrects both numbers. Email is $0.675 per 1,000, so the 300,000 emails in the post cost $202.50, where the post had $3,000. The same commenter says most of their clients do not use $97 of AI in a month, so those clients stay on pay as you go. Another reply suggests the $497 plan, which lets an agency rebill the AI plan and the usage.
The fix: match each client to the AI tier they will use. Pay-per-use has no monthly fee.
